The day dawned crisp and clear, the pleasant sound of birds chirping can be heard, the rays of sun poured through the window, illuminating the dark room. Another day has begun with new hopes and aspirations.
The light touched my face, I fluttered my eyes, and stretched her arms, a yawn escaped from my lips, I looked at the window, the black curtains were aside, I forgot to pull it last night, my hand reached to the left side of the bed, and I found it empty, I sighed in sorrow, but chuckled as it's nothing new for me, I should get habitual now.
But what's wrong in keeping up hopes.
I got up and my eyes enlarged looking at the clock in front of her on the wall, I moved slightly and took my iphone from that side table.
“Yeh Alarm kis ne band kiya mujhe yaad hai mene 6 bje ka rakha tha” I murmured as my eyebrows knitted in perplexity.
(Who turned off the alarm, I remember putting it on 6 )
but then a thought crossed my mind, Maybe I didn't hear it.
Without wasting more time I quickly jumped from the bed, gathering my brown luscious hair, tied them in a messy bun, which fell below my waist reaching almost till her butt.
And I love my hair.
“Ouch” I hissed as soon my foot landend of the cold floor, something pinched in the back of my foot, I bent down her head, and realized it's a button, I picked up the button and recalled its his shirt button which I took out last light, I shook her head in disappointment.
“Mujhe utha dete tou me fix kardeti, why did he go to the office with that shirt” I whispered as sadness gripped inside me.
(He should have woke me up, I would have fixed it)
Perceiving how apart we are, being married for months now but still my husband is too distant from me, and the thought always made me unhappy.
Placing the button on the side table, I walked inside the washroom to get ready for the day, to fulfill the duties of the ideal daughter-in-law of Sikandar house.
I wore a cream Color Anarkali suit with black handmade work on it, I don't have that time to dry my hair so I left them open to air dry, after that I wear my precious gold chain it was a gift from my husband, and then my engagement gold ring, I applied moisturizer, the gold nose ring set in on my nose enhancing my look, I quickly applied lip balm and glancing myself one last time in the Mirror I ran out of her room.
I ran down the stairs as my room is located on the top floor, with the small kitchen and sitting area, and a private pool with and the balcony, it feels like a 1 bhk flat, when I first came here I was surprised, while on the second floor there are two bedrooms of two brothers, and on the last floor are two bedrooms and two guest rooms.
“Good morning Bhabhi, are you alright why are you running? Is everything okay” I heard Hala’s voice as she walked out of her room in a jeans and t-shirt, with her belongings all ready to leave for work.
“Yeah, it's just I'm late, so that's why” I answered casually, she shook her head as we both walked down together, I spotted a discomfort on her face.
“Late he tou uthi ho app, wese bhi roz apko jaldi uthne ki Kya zaroorat hai, ap ko bhi rest ki zaroorat hai, I think you should prioritize yourself above them, sabke kaam karne me kya milta hai apko” She spoke out tapping my shoulder and walked down casually.
(You just woke up late, and why you have to wake up everyday, you also need rest, what you get by working for them)
Hala and Sufiyan got married 2 months back, and I thought she would be like me handling the household, mingling with family, but she doesn't come out from her room, she just takes care of herself, does her work, doesn't even even chat with family members.
She is so focused on her goal, she even gives back to family members with a lace of confidence, no one controls her, she loves doing what she wants. I sometimes wish to be like her.
But I’m different from her, and my relationship with Sikandars is different as well, neither I’m rich like her, nor can I get mean to anybody.
I’m from a middle class family, my father is a Employee here, I can’t be disrespectful to them, and they treat me like their own daughter. I get happy with the small moments Itself.
“Hala, Sufiyaan kahan hai or breakfast nahi karoge?” I asked her when she was about to leave, she turned and looked here and there before answering .
(Where is Sufiyaan won’t you guys do breakfast)
“I don’t know about him, maybe in the office, as I was sleeping and I have a surgery so I’ll be late, so bye” She said in one go, before I could stop her she took an apple from the fruit basket and left the house.
“Good morning bibi jee, apke liye chai bandaein?” As I entered inside the kitchen the all servants turned to me, acknowledging my presence, I shook my head denying.
(Good morning madam shall we make tea for you)
“Breakfast ka kisi ne bataya?”I questioned them as I looked after this matter and today I woke up late so I don’t know if they prepared anything or not.
(Did anyone told you about breakfast)
“Jee bari bibi jee ne inform kardiya” She answered I nodded my head and asked for a small cooking pot to make my tea. My day doesn’t start without my tea, and my husband doesn’t like tea so unfortunate.
“Mam please let us do, Sahab ne mana kiya hai, he will scold us” the cook said, coming near me, I shook my head.
(Sir have have forbidden it)
Basically my husband doesn’t like me and his mother working inside the kitchen because he says why are we paying servants then.
But I like doing my work, and even though he likes the food I made, he never said anything but I can understand his unsaid words.
“Nai mujhe karne dijiye, wese bhi Sara kaam tou app sa log karate hai aise tou meri adat kharab hojayegi,” I ordered them and they didn’t utter a word while I did my work.
(Please let me do, anyway you guys do all the work, my habits will get bad like this)
“Dadu Ki bina cheeni wali chai, Dadi ki adrak wali, or Mama ki normal wali, or Zeeshan ka proteinshake” I muttered while making their tea, like everyday.
Grandfather’s tea without sugar, grandmother’s ginger tea, and Mama’s normal tea, and Zeeshan’s protein shake.
I placed cups in the tray and walked out in the garden and saw the elderly citizen chatting on a few topics. They beamed as they noticed my presence.
“Good morning, mujhe pata chala ap sabne chai nahi pee aj tou Mein sabke liye banke ayii.” I told them placed their tray on the table, giving them a smile.
(I know you guys didn’t tea so I made it for everyone)
“You have made us habitual to your tea” Grandpa said tapping my head, I giggled, sat beside my mother in law.
“Meri jaan kaisi hai tabiyat ab” Mama asked me caressing my head I frowned in confusion.
(How’s your health my love)
“Mujhe kya hua?”
(What happened to me)
“Areh Subhah Hayaan se ne bataya tumhari tabiyat kharab hai, he said not to wake you up” She let out exchanging looks with grandmother she bobbed agreeing to her.
(In the morning Hayaan said you are not well)
And I was wondering why would he say this to her, he gets me so confused, he doesn't even talk to me openly.
“Wese Kab ayega wou office say usay phone karo, aj se tayariyaan shuru hojayegi Shadi wala ghar hai kitne sare kaam hai” Mama said sipping the tea, I was silently playing with my hands.
(By the way, when will he come back from the office, call him and ask him, preparations will start from today We have a lot of work, after all
It's a wedding in the house)
“Or Zeeshan nalayak ko bhi uthao, airport Jaye Mahira ko lene, koi fikar he nai hai janab ko” Grandpa spoke up shaking his head.
(And wake that useless guy, he should go at the airport and pick up mahira, he doesn't care at all)
“Kya hua jhagra hua hai Kya tum dono mein?” Grandma questioned me in a low tone about Hayan, making me surprised. I looked down and sighed.
(fight would have happened if we talk about anything)
I gain back my senses when Zeeshan came towards me, and forward his phone I stared at him confused.
“Bhabhi bhai kab se aapko phone kar rahe hai, and you didn't pick up so here” he said, handing me his phone before laying his head on his mother’s lap.
I was shocked why he called me, he never does what he wants today, I anxiously stared at the phone.
“Bhabhi wou bhai hai koi bhoot nahin” Zeeshan commented, making everybody chuckle.
“Tumhare bhai bhoot se kam hai kya” I murmured, placing the phone on my ear and closing my eyes hearing his cold tone, which made me shiver instantly .
